Our current offers (as of November 2025)

Physalis

The physalis is a small, bright orange berry enclosed in a delicate, papery shell. It resembles a small lantern and is therefore also known as a lantern fruit. Other names include Andean berry, Cape gooseberry, or bladder cherry. In Spanish-speaking countries, it is known as uchuva (Colombia), aguaymanto (Peru), or tomate cubano.

Physalis is native to Mexico, Colombia, and Central America. However, this intensely flavored fruit also thrives on our finca on El Hierro. Whether freshly harvested or dried, it has a fresh, slightly tart taste.

The fruits are rich in vitamin C, provitamin A, and antioxidants, which strengthen the immune system and protect the body from free radicals. They also contain minerals such as potassium and iron, which provide energy and support the metabolism.

You can enjoy physalis on their own or in muesli or fruit salads.

Our offer:
  • Vacuum-packed with at least 40g of fruit (approx. 50–70 fruits) for €5.
  • Fresh in season (roughly from June to November) for €3/100g.

“Recommended use:* 7-10 drops 2-3 times daily, if necessary in a little water, for 7-14 days, then take a break.

Artemisia annua

An exciting plant that is said to have a special effect on diseases that are widespread in our world. These include malaria, cancer, and COVID-19.

The properties attributed to Artemisia annua are:

  • Antiviral, e.g., for influenza, COVID-19, herpes, and more
  • Strengthens the immune system, stimulates the body’s defenses
  • Anti-inflammatory: for infections, joint problems, etc.
  • Antibacterial & antiparasitic, especially in the gastrointestinal tract
  • Wound healing & disinfecting; also works locally on already inflamed wounds
  • Liver & gallbladder tonic

Artemisia annua is not banned in the EU, as is often claimed. The plant may be cultivated and harvested. However, it may not be sold as a dietary supplement or remedy. To do so, it would have to obtain approval in the EU. Anyone familiar with EU approval procedures knows that only large corporations have the financial resources to obtain such approval. You don’t have to issue a ban to prohibit something…

Our Artemisia was harvested in the summer of 2025 and processed immediately. The quality is very high!

Our offer:
  • As a tincture (30ml) / 15 euros
  • As a tincture (30ml) / 10 euros (2nd infusion)

Recommended use: 7-10 drops 2-3 times daily, if necessary in a little water, for 7-14 days, then take a break.

Jams

A jam from Finca La Paz is a special treat. The fruit used is untreated and is usually processed fresh on the day it is harvested. The sugar content is low, with the fruit content between 80 and 90%. No additives are used, not even those that organic food manufacturers do not list, as a product can be marketed in the EU as “free of additives” if they do not exceed a certain limit. So there is no comparison with the jams that are traditionally available in stores. Our jams are pure nature.

We only produce very small quantities of each jam. The current overview of our range is available in PDF format “Jams from Finca La Paz”.

Compotes

The fruit used in our compotes also goes straight into processing without any intermediate storage. We do not use artificial fertilizers in cultivation. The same applies to the preparation and pre-treatment of the jars: no additives of any kind. The sugar content is low and the fruit content is usually around 90%.

Some compotes are so liquid that they can be used as essences for lemonades. A lemonade with fruit content is something very special.

In the PDF with our product range, you can find out more about exactly what is in each jar. And the jar really only contains what is listed here. Here is the current overview for
